My wife and I have been "bingeing" on 'Frasier' the last few years. The writing and acting is so well done and funny. I've come to appreciate it more on my second and third rewatchings. The '90s really were a Golden Age for sitcoms.
The astonishing thing is how well its aged. The sitcom is an almost obsolete form in 2024, but it doesn't feel it when watching a something written and performed 30 years ago. It has its cringey twee moments and, yes, Daphne's brother, and whatever accent he was trying to pull off, ruined many moments and even episodes, but mostly it remains the best American TV comedy of all time.
Great examination of the show and I’m curious what you will think of Seinfeld. I do enjoy Fraiser from time to time and I like what they’re doing with the sequel series.

Agreed. The best '90s sitcoms achieved the right balance of modern and old-school.

No Bebe Glazer episodes! Scandalous.
“Aren’t you glad I’m on your side” and “Oh darling, there’s always a chance” are two of my favourite lines of all time
Yeah, that was an oversight, and it just goes to show how many excellent episodes Frasier had.
One of the greatest comedy exchanges of all time.
Niles: What’s that perfume you’re wearing?
Daphne: Oh, trust you to notice, Dr Crane. It’s “Obsession”.
Niles: No, just a healthy interest!
It's amazing how much mileage they got out of that running gag.
Such a well written sitcom.I can only dream of writing at that level. Wonderful to read this.
