Welcome to And the Quest for Pop Culture, where I both examine stories and contribute my own.
This publication has three distinct sections: the commentary (the “Home” tab), my original serialized fiction (the “Terrific” tab), and occasional standalone fiction (“Other Fiction”). Subscribers can adjust their account settings to receive only the section(s) they want to receive. All new posts are free to read.

And the Quest for Pop Culture
These articles explore various books, comic books, movies, and TV shows. Click on the links below to sort the articles by category. (Many posts span multiple categories.)
Terrific
This is my original superhero prose series—where I put my money where my mouth is, basically.
Series index:
The ‘Terrific’ Reading Order
Welcome to Olympus City, where super-powers, physics-defying tech, and unearthly creatures are all possible now. Human nature, however, remains unchanged.
About the series:
A ‘Terrific’ New Series
Superheroes work best in a combination of short and long stories—episodic adventures as well as ongoing sagas. The smaller stories humanize the characters so that we care about them when they’re trying to save the world.
Announcement of the latest book’s release:
‘The Faceless Man’ Is Here!
I started serializing my next book on this platform nearly one year ago. That “next book” is now an actual book: The Faceless Man.
Other Fiction
These can be play scripts, short stories, even a short comic book story, and possibly more in time. This section publishes infrequently, and I’ve got just a handful of stories there so far.

Thank you!
The commentary is all free to read, and the only posts currently paywalled are some of the serialized Terrific stories that have since been collected into a book.
